Freedom in Christ

The concept of freedom in Christ is grounded in the transformative power of God’s grace. It signifies liberation from the power of sin, legalism, and the constraints of the old self. John 1:17 lets us know that the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

As Christians, our understanding of freedom is closely tied to our relationship with Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Let’s begin with a foundational Scripture that speaks to the essence of freedom in Christ.

Galatians 5:1 (KJV) “Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

This verse serves as a cornerstone for this lesson. It emphasizes the idea that Christ has set believers free and encourages them not to return to the bondage of legalism (the Law) and sin.
